Consolidating a Brand with multiple sub-brands.
Pottruff and Smith, a large Insurance Brokerage encompassing Group, Travel Health, Life and Standard
Insurance Programs.
The growth and development of the Pottruff and Smith Brand, evolved through many stages. The first stage was the creation of the Primary Identifier, which was the P & S Logo. Originally existing in multiple forms and styles the solution created, was a Wordmark, with the segmented Ampersand, linking the multiple elements that were P & S together. A Wordmark was also selected because I knew that going forward, there would be a need for multiple product identifiers and a Wordmark would not compete visual and would instead stand out from the sub-categories.
From there it was necessary to create strong visual identities for the range of products and brands within the business segments, as well as apply the identity across multiple channels, including, print, direct mail and web. With such broad range of visual solutions, it was extremely important to manage the styles, layouts and colours used, in order to maintain continuity, whether it involved a multi-coloured web page or a two colour brochure.
